Rain Forest Conservation Camp (6-day/night)
Off the Beaten Track...
Rain Forest Conservation Camps are 6 day/night (departure on the 7th day) programs designed for teachers, families, and students of all ages looking for an "adventure with a purpose". These camps can be scheduled at any time during the year. You will have 6 days of adventure exploring the lowland tropical forests: mangrove, and primary, secondary, and successionary rain forests. You'll also be visiting nearby protected areas, recording observations, exploring tide pools, participating in lectures and discussions, performing your own investigation, and learning about the pressures affecting this area. There might even be time for swimming, snorkeling, and just relaxing!
You can expect to be challenged in your treks through the rain forest, to get wet, dirty, and tired, to experience a corner of the world few people know, and to have a great time.
Participants should be in good health, as this is a physically rigorous program. All participants should have adequate health and accident insurance which covers activities in remote locations, including evacuation procedures, just in case.
